Deccan Chargers started their road to redemption in the second edition of the Indian Premier League on the perfect note as they thrashed Kolkata Knight Riders by eight wickets with almost seven overs to spare in Cape Town on Sunday evening to get their campaign off to a winning start.Gibbs remained unbeaten on 43 off 26 balls, and hit five boundaries and a six during his stint in the middle, while Sharma had three hits to the fence and two over it during his 32-balls knock of 36 not out.

Pragyan Ojha and Scott Styris picked up a couple of wickets with Harmeet chipping in with Ganguly's wicket.
